Importance of Attendance

Good attendance is extremely important and is associated with improved mental health and wellbeing, better student outcomes, and higher attainment.

Every Day Counts

Recent research shows that even missing one day has negative impact on a student’s achievements. Evidence shows that the students with the highest attendance throughout their time in school achieve the best GCSE and A Level results. Secondary school pupils who didn’t pass English and maths missed 10 more days over KS4 than those who did.

Our Multi-Tiered System of Support

To guarantee a comprehensive approach to attendance, we implement a Multi-Tiered System of Support. A Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) for school attendance involves three tiers of intervention, with roles for teachers, the school, children, parents, and external agencies – including the Local Authority.

For more details, please read our attendance policy.

Punctuality

“By time. Indeed, mankind is in loss. Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and  advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience” (Quran 103: 1-3).

How to help your child

  1. School gates open at 8 am. Drop your child off early.
  2. Make sure school bags are packed the night before.
  3. Go to bed early and switch off screens at least 1 hour before bedtime.
  4. Make sure that your child gets up with plenty of time to eat breakfast and get ready.
