You are invited to take part in a project of community research. Before you decide, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what participation will involve.

Purpose of this project
This project will enable the students to become “Health Ambassadors” and “Community Researchers”. They will gain work experience, develop research skills and provide a service to the NHS and Public Health England.
What
This year, our youth community researchers are exploring school readiness. They will be conducting face to face interview with parents and education professionals. In addition, they conducting a larger study, which requires our participants to complete a short survey.
What is school readiness?
School readiness refers to the knowledge and skills of children around the age of 5 who are about to start formal education, or primary school. The skills and range of knoweldge provide the foundation for progress in school and life.
Who can take part?
You may have lived experience or have cared for someone with lived experience of school readiness. You maybe a parent or older siblings, and health care or school professional who have had or has experience with young children starting school.
It is up to you to decide whether to take part. If you do decide to take part you be asked to sign a consent. You can withdraw at any time without giving a reason.
Whart happens to the information I share?
All the information that we collect about you during the research will be kept strictly confidential. You will not be able to be identified in any ensuing reports or publications. Everything you share will anonymous. No one will know your name or personal details. We are interested in your views and experiences to better understand the issue.
